Septa Key Card FAQ

Transpasses are available for students who live 1.5 miles from the school as determined by the Compass system that the school district uses. All students will receive a Septa Key Card on the first day of school. It is important that students keep their Septa Key Cards in a safe place for use each day. Please read below for commonly asked questions about Septa Key Cards.

Who is eligible for a Septa Key Card?

Septa Key cards are issued to students whom the district has determined to live 1.5 miles from the school by the Compass system, which is internal to them. The school has no way of adding people to that list ourselves.

What if I am a new student?

It takes the Compass system at least 24-48 hours to catch up to adding you in the system and another 24 hours for the card to be activated.

If you meet the eligibility criteria to receive a Septa Key Card, please follow the steps below to receive your transpass:

  1. Fill out this form: Septa Key Card Replacement Form
  2. Mrs. Lawson from the Upper School and Ms. McKay from the lower school will be immediately notified of your Septa Key Card needs.
  3. The next day during advisory you will get your card and it will be activated for you to go home that day.
    • On Wednesdays and Fridays when there is no advisory, please see Mrs. Lawson or Ms. McKay respectively at the beginning of lunch, within the first 10 minutes.

What if I changed my address?

When you change addresses, it takes the system at least 24-48 hours to catch up to adding you in the system and another 24 hours for the card to be activated.

If your new address meets the eligibilty criteria for a Septa Key Card, please follow the steps below to recieve a transpass:

  1. Fill out this form: Septa Key Card Replacement Form
  2. Mrs. Lawson from the Upper School and Ms. McKay from the lower school will be immediately notified of your Septa Key Card needs.
  3. The next day during advisory you will get your new card and it will be activated for you to go home that day.

What should I do if I lost my Septa Key Card?

It is imperative that students find a way to secure their Septa Key Card so that they can get to and from school. The school does not have any alternate method of transportation for students should they happen to lose their transpass.

Students will need to wait the full 24 hours for a replacement card. Students should come prepared with money to get to and from school during this time.

If you lost your Septa Key Card, please follow the following procedures for a replacement:

  2. Mrs. Lawson from the Upper School and Ms. McKay from the lower school will be immediately notified of your replacement needs.
  3. The next day during advisory you will get your replacement card and it will be activated for you to go home that day.
